Although there are a lot of opportunities for you to find a job, there are also restrictions. These restrictions are imposed by laws that are meant to protect you at work. These laws say how long you are allowed to work and what you are allowed and not allowed to do.
  • People who are 14 and 15 years of age are not allowed to work more than 3 hours every day, which makes a total of 18 hours a week
  • During school holidays and in summer teenagers can work up to 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.
  • Teenagers are not allowed to work after 7 p.m. during the school year and 9 p.m when there’s no school.
